I wanted to bring my prototype to life by demonstrating how it might function with a real car and driver – so I decided to create a video! I had fun storyboarding, shooting and editing this. For the starring role, I enlisted top-tier talent: my dad.

For the shot with the fan, I ended up having to rely solely on my dad’s acting when the car’s electrical outlet that the fan was plugged into failed to work.
Camera Setup
The original plan was to place the prototype over the actual car console, but the iPad screen couldn’t get bright enough to produce a clear shot in the outdoor sunlight. We moved to a dark room indoors, and I set up a tightly cropped shot so that in editing, I’d be able to seamlessly blend it with what was actually filmed inside the car.
